This is an audio journal project: a travel diary in the form of sound. An aural observation blog. Every track has a description + some pics, which is downloadable as a pdf. Artists, composers, field recordists and anyone with interest in starting a listening practice can download (and consider donating!).
This ongoing project focuses on actively listening to the world as we travel through it, wherever we may be. Active listening is a powerful way to process complex information about our environment, be it man-made or natural, that our cameras and our eyes cannot fully capture. Some sounds belong to certain specific sonic environments, and can only happen in specific situations of time or distribution of space, change with perspective or are unique to a certain culture, micro-culture or event. Finally, this project also plays with the idea of creating new stories through sound design using field recordings as part of the creative process. Join and enjoy!
